A little bit about me...

Explore Empower Enrich - your journey to recovery!

From beginnings in psychology

As a psychology graduate (BA Hons) in 2001 I began to form my interest in the mental health field. Volunteering in mental health residential care homes from the age of 20 helped me to gain an understanding of people who struggle with daily life. Furthering my interest in psychology I completed my Masters (MsC) in Developmental Psychology.

Ongoing professional development

Whilst being a successful teacher, senior leader in schools, consultant and assistant headteacher, I was able to gain experience in my own time by volunteering - this allowed me to learn from clinical psychologists, counsellors and psychotherapists who had a wealth of experience. I completed my Counselling Skills for Children & Adolescents Diploma during this time.

Masters of Counselling & Applied Psychotherapy

Full-time study in 2015 in great detail with a large amount of practical experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist leading to PACFA (Psychotherapy & Counselling Federation of Australia) registration and opportunities for further high-quality professional development - new learning and new experiences leads to new developments!

Certified Yoga Training

Our body, mind and soul are connected and all need to be nourished. Recovery from a difficult time in our lives can be more effective if we work in a holistic way. Yoga can help with this. Research has proven that yoga can help alleviate feelings of depression, anxiety and stress. Working 1-1 or in a small group with specific poses can have a positive impact on improving our mental health. I run wellness retreats regularly (see www.RollingHillsRetreat.com.au)

To the present... the gift of therapy is a wonderful thing. I am privileged to be invited on the journey with such wonderful clients - I hope that you will be next.
